It is just some sort of environmental damage.

 

Zinc rot, split plating which both show the ugly factor of zincolns as the zinc core cannibalize itself.

 

I have found thousands like yours when metal detecting. It's not unique.. Just a bad plating issue.

 

Look closer.

 

Just a damaged coin.

 

Just a Misaligned Die Strike.. Spend it.

Now you can stop posting the same Cent over and over again.

 

Are you referring to the dot between the '9's in the date?

 

I think he's referring to the corrosion on the coin that looks like a bullet hole to the temple? It being Abe and his being shot, and all? I'm grasping, here!

hmm .. sorry if that kinda sounded harsh but once you gain more knowledge and experience you'll concur.

 

didn't we just a short time ago get another poster with a cent like this, all corroded and all. All defiant that it was unique and one of a kind and a new discovery or something like that ?
