Iam currently serving in Afghanistan and there a ton of fakes at the bazaar. The copies are good except.for.the wieght is off. The seated liberty dollars just dont wiegh right. Anyways I ended up buying about 60 or so of these things for 40 cents a piece. Yes 40 cents. I just called them out and started to walk away. These fake coins will be perfect to practice making coin rings with. And the best part they wont able to fool.any unexpecting private.
I understand your reasoning for buying them, but by making the purchase you are creating demand. That will contribute to more of these being made. That's not good.
Love to see how those look! Hard to imagine good copies over there, but I've been way surprised in India by quality counterfeiting.
