Sorry, I misunderstood - I thought you were interested in buying the halves in bulk - a $500 box from the Federal Reserve Bank contains 1000 coins and weighs about 28 lbs. (hence the trunks and bus ride)

Ebay, is your best bet if you don't want to travel, you can get them dirt cheap but you have to pay the shipping.

American CRH find foreign coins. Perhaps Canadian CRH find American coins. You could offer to buy from them and save on postage. Canadian casinos near the border probably get a lot of american coins and might be very happy to sell them to you over the counter with no shipping.

I’d like to travel beyond our border, but alas, a passport ain’t in my future... as far as I can see anyways.

If I could buy bulk, I would. If I could buy bulk and pay for shipping, I would but the weight on that would be crazy expensive I’m sure! I’ve never really shipped nor have had shipped too much beyond Canada. I was just hoping there was some type of pipeline between our countries that was already established or known of that didn’t empty the wallet faster than the hotdog vender at the ballpark or stadium. I do believe I will inquiry at the currency exchange... dang, I should have asked the dealers at the flea market today! I was too busy looking and b.s.ing... er, being personal with them our first meeting, lol

Yours might be the ONLY situation for which I could justify doing the following: There are some sellers on ebay and other sites who sell wrapped rolls of halves for 15 or more dollars US per 10$ roll. It might be worth it to you to grab a few of these, seeing as how the premium will strangely be somewhat small, compared to travel expenses.

I actually did a small search there today. The majority of the pieces I liked didn’t ship to Canada but I didn’t go too deep into the search so yeah, I will keep looking. Thanks for your thoughts.

Honestly, it wouldn't be too much trouble to throw a couple of rolls in the mail. Next time I get a box, I'll let you know.

I know pretty much zilch on shipping stuff and the nature of things crossing the border other than from what I know from the tv show but I don’t think I ever retained that info if it came up anyway and I gather that route back could be reciprocal from over here.

Typically Foreign exchange places don't deal in coinage. Too heavy and bulky to ship for redemption.
