Hi Sidney, beautiful coins! How much do you think an MS67 NGC is worth?

Lovely stuff! Great collection. Love those square George V pieces. And that lustrous MS67 1927 10c- wow!

I did not collect Straits coins per se, but did have a few in the 1901 British Empire type set I built for my daughter Victoria some years ago.

That is a handsome coin. There are a lot of Chinese counterfeits of those so I'm not sure if that is authentic or not. It looks OK to me but I'm not experienced enough with these to say for sure.

I also still learn a lot about this coin. The counterfeiting of coins from China is getting more sophisticated. In Indonesia there is a lot of counterfeit coins maybe from China. The more difficult the original or fake differences. Thank you

Have you weighed and measured them and performed a ping test? These tests aren't foolproof, but these coins aren't valuable enough that fakes are likely to be made of real silver.

Aren't the Straits dollars like that fairly valuable coins? At any rate, that one certainly looks like silver to me, at least.

Well, on the order of $100-120, I think. I don't know if that's enough to encourage counterfeiters to use real silver. Maybe!

Edit: I agree they look like silver, but would be good to rule out plating.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Have not been logging in here for a while.
I think the value would be between $150 - $200

Collecting Straits Settlement coin are getting pretty expensive.

The 10 cents 1927 fetches from $6 - $25 raw UNC conditions. Once they are graded and slabbed, they go from $50 - $200 pending grades

This is only a very common coin
