That show is a reason for not watching broadcast TV, and sustaining to cable and documentary TV.......
Ive been gone awhile I come back, BOOM no Bellman I do a little investigating and find the story but no records so I can read the way this thing played out. I wonder if the mods erased all his stuff or if it’s sitting somewhere? I for one would like to see the final postings of Mr. V. Kirt Bellman. What says everybody. Especially those who witnessed it go down. Reed.
I did enjoy you two going toe-to-toe. The exchanges were well-reasoned and articulate, considering I never had to take sides. ‘Twas fun to watch.
I missed the original thread but I wasn't offended by anyone but the original poster. In fact, VKB was quite polite and supportive to Shrews. (Possibly the offending post is gone now, but I saw an honest attempt to educate was made.)
Thanks for the link, I just got done reading it. I CANNOT believe Kurt got booted for that, what garbage! Reed. Oops I better not say garbage or I’ll be next to get bammed and banned. Shh don’t say anything.
"I sue REPEATEDLY pro se!" oh. If that had been me, I would probably have regretted posting that, and later thought, "Might have there been another way I could have resolved that issue?"
Seriously? I was following that thread when it happened, and immediately upon reading that post, I knew that our unhinged friend was about to take a really long vacation from Cointalk.
Okay, I see where that cannot be tolerated. Not only does it have a chilling effect on open discourse, but in threatening the site itself he’s biting the hand that feeds him. Unfortunately for Kurt, there seems to be a less hostile vibe around here now, so it’s hard to argue with the results. In honor of his various diatribes, here’s something he would hate: a clad, modern, artificially toned dime - from eBay.
As was stated by one of the mods earlier in this thread, CT policy is and always has been that we will not discuss moderation issues regarding any individual CT member. And when it comes to banning we will neither confirm nor deny that anyone has been banned. What we will do is discuss the forum rules. They're plainly and prominently posted for any and all to read - https://www.cointalk.com/threads/coin-talk-rules.34131/ But I would direct your attention to the NOTE at the bottom of that page. It says - NOTE - Coin Talk has an infraction system. Break the rules and you may, or may not, based on the moderator's discretion, be given an infraction for rule violations. Infractions carry points, and those points stay with you for a given period of time - again discretionary. Anyone who acquitres 10 points is automatically banned from Coin Talk. That ban may stay in effect for a limited period of time, again discretionary, or it may be permanent - meaning you will be banned forever. That said, 99.9% of the members will never have to worry about this. It's pretty simple, follow our rules and you will never be given an infraction. Typically infractions are only ever given to those who blatantly and/or repeatedly break the rules.
uh...hi... how many points have I 'acquitred' so far? I suspect that I'm I teetering on the edge. you know, ...just wondering.
I enjoyed his post, I'd like to see him be unbanned. If someone can't take a little criticism, maybe your too thin skin, is this the way we are going where everyone gets a trophy. Bring Kurt Back (BKB).
The copyright laws are nebulous. His claim that he owns the rights to his image may be true, but also unenforceable if he never filed the paperwork and fee to copyright said image, which I doubt he did. Not trying to get banned here, just my 2 cents. I have filed copyright papers and paid fees in the past, for my own work, and then for a company that I worked for. But this was many years ago and I am sure the rules have changed since then. While I may miss his knowledge of our hobby, I don't miss the abrasiveness. There was a post where a 1970 S was in a holder and sold as a small date, when it had every marker for a large date and not 1 single marker for a small date. And he insisted it was a proof small date, but photos of a proof small date proved that to be false and he still insisted it was a small date. When you are wrong and keep spouting that you are right, that doesn't help new collectors trying to learn the differences.
