Wanted to see what everyone thought of this coin, and what designation they think it would get (pl/employee). Marks on the jaw are roller marks and not wheel or bag marks and will 100% straight grade. Heard everyone around here have some great experience in this field so thank you for that! Make sure to take a look through the entire album, really shows the depth of the mirrored fields in them compared to the photos

I was thinking 64 DMPL. At least PL.

I think it’s in the 63-64 range and likely PL. It might go DMPL, but I wouldn’t bet on that. The coin might be worth submitting if you have a batch going to the TPG (I wouldn’t submit it by itself as that would cost too much).

63PL. 64 if not for the roller marks on the cheek.

The gouge on her face just might relegate the coin to a Details grade.

Edit - Changing my earlier guess of 63PL to 63+PL. Nice but just to much going on on the cheek to make 64 IMO.

Has anyone noted the minor edge damage in the top right corner on the obverse?

Those are some serious face hits. But I’ve seen plenty of Morgans straight grade with such.

It looks like a high end 63 to low end 64. The mark across her cheek is large and severe enough to certainly impact the grade. The fields appear to be very clean and would help out in the grading room. In the end, it comes down to how the graders feel on the day your coin comes through.

63, not prooflike. It should straight grade, even with the hit. It is bag contact, not damage. Typical of 62-63 grade Morgans.

Whoa, I'm confused. Why would you not say PL? those fields are reflective past 8 inches. What more do you need?

How can you tell from the photograph? I say “not.” Difficult from a photograph that directly captures straight on light.

@Morgandude11 He posted a video in his link above. The coin seems super reflective. Does this change your mind? If be
Inclined to believe you if you still feel it's not PL, I don't have as much experience but this seemed like an easy PL possible DMPL even to me.

Absolutely not a DMPL. They have far more of a cameo look. I would have to see the coin in hand to see how reflective it is. The newer standards are tougher on PL coins. It is unquestionable a bright, reflective Morgan. I usually look for a bit more frost, and some cameo for a PL coin.
