Can someone please tell me if this was replaced or if I should investigate further into this 19 £.92 or if anyone can assist me with any information as to the a.m. error if in fact there is one thank you
Welcome to Coin Talk. The 1992 US Mint set issued by the US Mint did not come in that packaging! http://www.varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/DDO Detail Pages/1971DDDO015.htm You can buy the real one on ebay for about $5.00 (A little more or less). Even the 1992 Clad and Silver Proof sets were not packaged like that. https://www.google.com/search?q=199...9l2j69i60l3.6821j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
I know. Iv never seen anything like it so I was surprised. So I figured I’d throw it out there to see what everyone’s advice was. So this is nothing more then just someone’s put together a “ uncirculated “ set. But the penny’s def not with looking into then ?????
Don't know how I put the Varietyviasta.com site there. I meant to show you photos of the packaging the US Mint used for their 1992 Mint sets https://mintsetguide.com/1992-mint-set/ IMO the "bankers set" you posted is not worth bothering with.
This may have actually been part of a mint set once, but the cent is Philadelphia while the rest of the coins are Denver, the holder is not the government packaging, the COA is not the one from the mint. By doing this they can take a mint set that cost $4 to $5 and make two "Bankers Sets" and sell them for £19.92 each (about $26 so $5 becomes $52) Pretty good profit for them, and the buyer now has half a mint set worth $0.91
