For my albums I collect nothing less than grade MS63. When I was in my favorite coin store the guy had two '39D's (last hole in album) wanted $100 each for them MS65. What do you think? Thanks, Douglas
if you want to fill the hole with a high grade then why not, if your not in a rush then wait. Have you tried to talk him down?
Are they MS65 because he says so, you say so or because a TPG says so? Next question are they worth $100.00 or more at MS65? And finally does he know you need this coin and is trying to take advantage? Just some questions I would be asking myself in your situation. In the end if it was me and I had $100.00 and they were truly MS65 coins and worth close to what this guys is asking, I would snatch them up in a heart beat. I will assume if you collect nothing less then MS63s you will have seen a few MS65 already. Enough to know a MS60-62 when you see one. In any case good luck and "Keep on Collecting!!!" Allen
I saw two at a show this weekend that were MS (not slabbed) and the dealer wanted $85 for one and $90 for the other. I asked specifically about those two and he said they move pretty quickly even at those prices and they are hard to find in high grade. So last night I bought this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190203983872&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=009. I know it's not MS but I am hoping it has a 38 reverse. If not, it will fill the hole until I can find one better for not so much money. BTW: this guy has a new one listed that looks better than the one I got. Doesn't look like must luster from the pics so I will be interested to see what mine looks like in hand. Good luck!
Man, I'm glad I got mine at $65. Not slabbed but a beauty. Now I need to see the XF-AU grades take off. Got a few of those.
