    TIF Always learning.

Out of curiosity, who are you and why have your only CoinTalk posts been to tell Jay that his coins are fake? Why do you think anyone will take your word for it when you have provided nothing definitive in support of your opinion about the coin in this thread? In the other instance of your condemnation of one of Jay's coins, your "evidence" was not convincing.

It's okay to question things but when someone unknown to this board chimes in with an unsupported condemnation, that's not cool. It would be better to ask this as a question, something like "I've heard of modern fake coins being artificially aged to make them appear ancient. Do you think that could be the case with this coin?"

The answer to that is easy. It starts with a “t”.

I am a member of a global committee to fight counterfeiters and can tell you that I have seen more fakes than your hairs . I know what is fake and what is genuine this is my job as a dealer and numismatist. I will not see any reason to tell you my identity as I prefer to remain in shadows for forgers who visit these sites often and learn how to improve their techniques . I just tell you what I see and my eyes have not been telling me wrong for years. I am not targeting any specific person but for some reasons the coins Jay posted turn out fakes and I feel I need to tell him otherwise who ever his source is will make a fool out of him . If I were him , I would rethink about the sources he is dealing with. I noticed his collection in the Forum as well and found many of his coin are fake unfortunately I hope he didn't spend much on these.

What is the name of this global committee? I’m sure we’d like to know more about it.

The committee is CFDL. I say this to protect your pockets its up to you as its your money getting wasted by fakes. Another member called orfew has many Domitian coins fakes in his collection. Please look at this instance to know how a real Domitian look like. The problem with you guys here is you have ego and NEVER learn. Please learn from people like me who have been doing this for years (I am a numismatist for 20 years now) . Look at surface sharp details etc

    Good luck!

Much like your condemnation of @Jay GT4's Domitian denarius, you offer NO evidence to back up your spurious claims against @Orfew's coins. Unlike the CFDL, the intellectual guardrails are fairly strong here on CT to protect against this kind of wish thinking.

I take it your "global committee" also prefers to remain in the shadows. Since you're also a self-proclaimed "dealer" and "numismatist," do you at least deign to reveal your identity to your clients? Can you cite some of your peer reviewed publications please, so we can begin the arduous task of educating ourselves?

Sorry, but neither you nor your "committee" pass the laugh test.

    Phil Davis

Edit: Ah, I see that Mr. or Ms. Christensen has revealed themselves as a member of the world-renowned CFDL. Enough said.
