At what point does one start considering 1982 quarters of collectable worth. I found this quarter almost perfect. The edge has zero nicks or scratches
i have a stack of coin folders and when i find a coin like yours i would pull out my GW quarters folder and pop that coin into the 1982 hole, smile an put the folder back on the stack...
I don't know the value, but if I found that coin, I would keep it. Since there were no mint sets in 1982, nice coins are tougher to find.
Im not borderline. I am a hoarder. Collections of many, parter of none. Thanks. I like to look at it.
I hoard all my change too. I have jars full of quarters. There's a thread here of us quarter hoarders somewhere ...
Beautiful specimen for its age (37 yrs). Not worth having it graded, but definitely a keeper & worth protecting. Nice find!
LOL I've been accused of being a hoarder but as it says under my name Borderline Hoarder. And that's what I am, a borderline Hoarder. I want to keep it all but I can't do I sell in my antique shop. I don't label everything but I do label a lot. I also am an achiever, just in a different way.
The way I look at it is that your quarter is a nice coin and would be worthy of keeping. Not so much because it may be worth much, but because it is fun to look upon. That is where the main value is in my estimation.
There are those of us in the hobby that believe well-preserved "survivor" coins must be rescued from circulation. Any time I stumble across coins like your quarter I get them into a 2x2 as a minimum. Yours looks to have a clean, strong strike and clear fields...and the rim shot shows the reeding condition. Nice coin, thanks for sharing...Spark
