Perhaps it’s just the photos, but I’m not liking what I’m seeing here. I wouldn’t get my hopes up, but either way it’s not a submission candidate even if I’m wrong.

It seems to have been cleaned quite recently. The high grade examples don't have the pale almost pink color that your coin has. Also, there is evidence of black gunk remaining where it wasn't cleaned as much around the devices. It certainly has the details to be called uncirculated, but it has been unfortunately cleaned. Your coin is worth just about $5-10 if you're lucky. Definitely not a candidate for submission. It is good that you are checking the people on this forum because you wouldn't want to spend money and find out it isn't what you expected.

I agree with Books, from the pictures it looks like it was cleaned.

Photos can be decieving, but here's another vote for cleaning . . . a fairly extreme one.

Agreed this has been cleaned. Did a dealer sell this at a coin store as UNC? If so, bring it back and ask for a refund. He/she knows better.

Well... I don’t know his collecting expertise, but that is a cleaned coin and I’m sorry you bought it thinking otherwise. Advise your friend to get pliers and flatten all the staplers on those 2x2s (same advice for you). Those will scratch and ruin other coins. Trust me, we’ve all done it. Spend $20 or so and get a flat clinch stapler and staples. It’ll save you lots of time and anguish down the road.

P.S. what are your collecting interests and what got you interested in buying an IHC?

I collect all U.S coins. Its a nice coin with lots of detail even if it is cleaned so i decided to buy it.

You can’t expect much for $5, but still I’d be careful when dealing with your buddy down the road, especially if he’s not a complete newb.

No. do not get this coin graded. That orange color on that coin obviously means it was cleaned. It does not look natural. In time you will be able to tell what looks natural and very un-natural.
