    Hobo,

You got me, I've only found a 1919 S Cent in Very circulated condition. I alway's put those type coins in a jar. One day I will roll my very circulated coins and let someone else enjoy.

Im finally off work. Heres the reverse of the 3 cent http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg190/wledswift/scrap3.jpg. I have to say that this is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. Up until now the best I've ever done was a couple of silver quarters and some 1950's dimes. What I can't figure out is where something like this would come from. It definetly hasn't been is circulation. Also I did go back tonight after work just to see if anything else might have shown up. You should see the looks you get when you ask a 16 year old BK cashier If they have any strange coins in the till. You might have thought I was trying to rob them. Anyways now I'm sure I've shot all of my luck for the year but not a bad way to use it all up.

Not bad at all. Just remember when you or anyone else use to open Mom or Dad's coin box to have a little money.

This is one of those "Remember When" moments. Congrat's.

A kid somewhere got into Daddy's collection and spent that "dime". Daddy's loss and your gain.

Ok, now this kid spent the 3 cents as a dime so some might argue that he in fact is the one who got the better deal???

What kind of dime IS that?

Is it me or did a few of you think I was serious when I asked that question?
I'm fairly certain we all knew it was a 3 Cent Nickel. :)

Great find. But what is really unbelievable, is that the words ..Thank you..and ...Burger King..are in the same sentence.

If you used sarcasm a little more often, we may have gotten it.

    I resemble that remark!

You're right - I'll try and be sarcastic on occasion.

You know sarcasm, puns and metaphors.

Ya see what happens when you are usually serious!

Heck, no one takes me seriously.

I had a seriousl comment once, but then I took a deep breath and it went away,

you and me you and me although i must admi t i have got some what pennies in change and pray tell what started it in 1964?

What started it for me in 1964 was for my birthday I got some Whitman albums and a Blue Book (plus some stamp collecting stuff that fell by the wayside). Back then a kid could fill a lot of holes in those albums with coins from circulation.

oldest coin I found has been a 1919 Wheat Cent...
other than that, its been a 1941 Canadian Cent (oddly enough) and 1941 Jefferson nickel.

Maybe some day I'll get a "dime" like that. :D

Most likely, this coin re-entered circulation from someone cashing in loose coins they inherited or stole. There are plenty of people that save those odd coins in a tray/dish/drawer/etc... Could be someone literally dumped all that loose change in a coinstar (or equivalent) and it being close enough to a dime in size, was counted as a dime.

You know this came out of someones collection, some 14 year old wanted a burger and needed an extra nickel, I have gotten a few coins over the years that I believe showed up the same way.

My wife got a Barber dime at McDonald's once about 10 years ago. But yours beats that.

And I WOULD have gone back to the counter and asked for my 7 cents. Just to be a dork. While my wife and daughter were hiding out in the car in embarassment of my doing such a stupid thing.
