If you read the certificate, these are tribute proofs from the National Collectors Mint.:desk: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-MORGAN-DOLLAR...ryZ39465QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Quoth: " . . . CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY THE ARE .999 SILVER 1-OZ . . . " end quoth. Somebody is bidding more than $200 dollars an ounce for silver?!?!?
Hmmm... Just took another look at the completed auction then deciided to check his (sellers) "me" page. Auction has terrible grammar and selling off all coins. "Me" page a totally different animal as well as his links and goals. I will say no more (for now) but urge you to look and see what YOU think. clembo
He's using his "religion" as a tool. 10% goes to buying Bibles the rest goes into buying more coins to buy more Bibles. I just questioned him about some knives for sale. You gotta read his stuff closely. He's selling 57 year old knives that were made in 2002? Math don't add up but like I said you have to really look. If this guy is a pastor then I'm a Saint. At least I'm up front about what I say.
Perhaps the seller can use the money to buy a spell checker. The auction should never have been listed without a disclaimer in the title that these are not real Morgan dollars. There are enough clues in the listing that they're not genuine (such as being 0.999 fine silver) but a less knowledgeable buyer could certainly be fooled.
"""THIS IS A AUCTION FOR A MORGAN DOLLAR COIN SET THE DATES ARE 1895 1889 1879 THE SET HAS A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY THE ARE .999 SILVER 1-OZ I BUY FROM US MINT 3 YEARS AGO, " There is the buyer's out. The US Mint does not sell this stuff so there is a factual "error" or misstatement in the auction description. Do schools no longer teach spelling and grammar? Sheesh!!
His about me: "I AM SELLING NEW & OLD PAPER MONEY AND COINS GOLD, SILVER EAGLES ALL KINDS OF THING HI, AM JOSHUA A PASTOR, AM SELLING OLD COINS AND PAPER MONEY TO BUY BIBLE TO SEND ALL OVER THE 4 CORNER OF WORLD FOR LORD JESUS CHRIST. I WILL USE 10 % OF PROFIT FOR BIBLE AND THE REST TO PUT BACK IN TO BUYING OTHER OLD COINS AND PAPER MONEY. THIS IS A HOBBLE I DO NOT LIVE ON IT I HAVE A OTHER INCOME. THANK YOU FOR YOU BUYING FROM ME TO GET BIBLE OUT TO THE PEOPLE AT HAVE A NEED ALL OVER THE WORLD THANK YOU. PASTOR JOSHUA" Forget spell check, how about grammatic.
A response to my question I did get a response to my question to this seller. Actually figured I would. I questioned about his knife auction which I felt was a bit misleading. Here's the reply. "YOU ARE JUST LIKE OTHER YOU LIKE TO JUDE OTHER SO YOU WILL BE JUDE BY GOD I PUT AT THE KNIFE ARE MAKE IN 2002 AT FOR MOST PEOPLE REPORDUCE THE FIRST TIME MAKE WAS 51 YEAR I DO NOT KNOW WHY YOU THINK I WAS GOING DECEPTIVE I HAVE SOLD 100 OF THE KNIFE AND ONLY ONE TIME A MAN ASK FOR A REFUND I GAVE IT YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR HEART NOT MINE I MAKE A CHANGE SO OTHER DO NOT TAKE IT WRONG MOST DO NOT JUDE OTHER LIKE YOU DO JOSH." Wow, Caps lock and articulation city here we come! Now I waded thtough this mess and first thing is, as my wife calls it, "persecution syndrome". Yep, seems old clembo is quick to judge. I won't even deny that but this is not a Biblical sense. I'm quick to judge a potential scammer no doubt. I actually did respond to this whole thing. Basically pointed out that in his first line HE is judging. It's something we are all guilty of at times. Some just admit it more freely. Wonder if he'll wrap his brain around that? Doubt it. I also mentioned that he changed his auction after my question. If he's not doing a little deception why would the line about a 57 year old knife suddenly disappear? I'm mentioned in the new improved model. You know people that JUDE. Now if this guy is indeed using 10% of his profits to send Bibles around the world good for him. If true there should be absolutely NO deception, or even hint thereof, in his auctions. Kind of goes against the principles in The Book IMHO.
