I got this 1926 peace for 19.99 plus shipping. I figured at least I got it close to spot, but what is your opinion on its grade? Thanks for looking:smile http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=380002764554&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=025
The images don't allow for a decent look at the coin. It could be AU and/or cleaned or a decent uncirculated example - there's just no way to tell.
If it wasn't for the $5 shipping I would say you did OK since spot is over $20/oz. 1926 is a fairly common date in AU50 - MS63 grades but the coin is pretty and does contain almost $16 worth of silver.
No Bad IMO I agree with Mark, BUT I think you did fine. The coin is beautiful cleaned or not. I think it is an AU, but still a nice example. Keep on Collecting!!! Allen
I'll agree with the rest, when you get it if you could post a better pic it will help with grading. Looks nice though!
More important than asking to find out if you got a good deal is the fact that you bought it first and only started to investigate afterward whether or not it was a good deal. Before you buy anything, you should know in advance whether it is a good deal, a fair deal, or a bad deal. Otherwise, you shouldn't be buying.
I agree with you cloudsweeper. However, I needed that coin for a date set I was putting together and I was trying to get one for under the $20 limit I put on myself. I just thought that it looked unc and was in better shape than most of what was going for under $20. Thanks though for taking the time to look, I do appreciate that the CT folks are honest and look out for the newbies.
