Nope, went back to my local Krogers and bought the last ones from before. They still could not get rid of them and were very happy for me to take them off their hands.

Haven't had a chance to look them over yet. Of course there are obviously no silver or key dates or "S". But I will let you know.

Ike dollars are a lot of fun. For such a short series, they had so much going on.

Just located a peg leg on the Bicent Type 1 Ike in the three coin proof set. I suspect all of the proofs are peg leg

What do you think would be pros &/or cons to sending it in (assuming I could figure out the pricing guide)?

Interesting reasoning........ maybe I'll just keep on doing it the way I have always been collecting.....

I'm learning to dislike that phrase, "Uncirculated". It has too many definitions for as many eyes there are out there. I have even seen a guy that resends coins, (to the same and different places), to be reevaluated if he doesn't like the first setting (and more than not gets what he wants). Must be nice to have that kind of spending capital but he claims he makes out in the resale of the coins. Hey, I'm just a RECON grunt, too much for me to fathom.

Someday I might try it just to say I did and then maybe I could backwater some of their reasoning for pricing.

.... as well as the learning experience. I had no clue of the divers errors, let alone the history behind all of it.

I don't collect peg legs. so I'm not sure if I would send it in .

But there are many more error types out there. I just put up a YouTube about some and have a couple more coming out on other errors I've found. My thoughts right now, if I come across a really good one, (not likely, but), I may just try it out. My collection goes to my grandbabies when I'm gone and hopefully it will be worth something by then. Every little bit helps.

There are very few varieties of Ikes that are worth sending in. Some are worth the cost but most are not.

I like that you don't pretend to be an expert and also direct folks to Coin Talk. What do you use to magnify your coin images on the screen?
