1996D penny-need help with the doubling!

    I am stuck with this one.Never seen anything similar. especially on LIBERTY. Can someone explain that to me?Thank you!

    It's a worn Die Strike considered DDD
    Die Deterioration Doubling also known as worthless doubling..
    It's a very common issue on Copper Plated Zinc cents.

    ok.got it! it was too intense to my eyes. the "L" on liberty worried me the most. What is that?

    could be a small die break.. Also looks like split plating next to it.. All evidence of a worn die.
