One time I went to a coin show in Dortmund (NW, DE), and saw quite a few people with odd "boxes" walking around. Huh? Turned out that, in a neighboring hall of the convention center, there was a pigeon show right at the same time. That area (Ruhr) used to be a mining region, and many coal workers had carrier pigeons - the racehorses of the "man in the street". But no, even if I had the money, I would not be willing to pay so much for one ... Christian
