Boeing medal

    Hey gang,
    Picked this up at a yard sale for 25 cents. Since then been Googling but no luck pinning it down exactly.

    I realize there is a whole series of these, found a table of years and numbers made in silver, pewter and copper but can’t pin this one down. Diameter just under 2”. No scale (on vacation). image.jpg image.jpg

    Anyone familiar with this particular example?

    FWIW, the Northwest Territorial Mint specializes in custom-made medals. This could be right down their alley.

    Yup. A few of the ships I served on had their ship coins minted by them. My guess is that this coin was done up by someone at Boeing who had a contract with the military. Probably to hand out to the people that worked on the project.
