I like them, but at $45 an ounce, I'll wait until someone gets bored with it.

I would never buy their standard coins, but I do generally like the looks of them. However, that Apollo looks absolutely horrendous. :yuck:

What exactly even is black ruthenium?

Ruthenium is a chemical element that is being used to electroplate coins and other objects. It leaves a smooth black finish. It's often combined with gold plating to produce a dramatic gold/black contrast.

A week ago, I received a notice that my 5 oz. Moon Landing Coins had shipped. Alas, the tracking number given in the notice shows that the label was created, but the coins haven't reached UPS yet. Has anyone else seen something similar?

You got me curious to check the status of my puck. The Mint took the money for the coin today. The status of my order has changed from backorder to processing. So, maybe the mint is about to ship them out.

My other order of 5oz are still listed as backordered. I ordered them a couple weeks after i received my initial order.

The coins showed up next to my garage sometime in the last day. This is despite
    a) the signature requirement imposed by the US Mint, and b) that the UPS site still shows the coins as never having been shipped. I won't even be able to look at them until late tonight.
