Just curious why the penny looks to have a silver look to it.

    a damaged cent
    remember these cents all post 1982 are a 8 micron thin copper plate over a silver colored zinc core. I think you are seeing the zinc core showing through from some wear.

    It's the correct planchet. Just worn copper plating :yack:
