I bought two sets and both W cents looked fine. What puzzled me was that the mint included special envelopes for each W cent but didn't put the coins in the envelopes. They were loosely packed in plastic baggies.
Mine are being shipped overseas. I’m worried that the Lincoln cents will be damaged by the time they arrive.
I placed my order for the Proof Set on March 2. When I did a check with Fedex yesterday, I got a message that due to the storms in the area, delivery has been delayed. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Usually, it only takes about 7-10 days. Anyone else see something like that? I want to see my 1 Cent W.
I'm not a fan of Fedex smartpost where I live in Wisconsin. Whenever I have a package coming that method tracking shows it going to Chicago, then to New Berlin Wisonsin where it sits for several days, then back to Chicago and then to a nearby FedEx office where it is the handed off to a nearby post office. It then goes from that post office to my local one. This just seems so convoluted and inefficient. I assume the mint has a contract with Fedex but it would seem more efficient to just use the USPS all the way.
Nice set. Are you planning to get the Silver Proof set as well? I buy one Silver Proof set from the mint each year. This year, the Silver Proof set will use .999 fine silver vs. traditional coin silver (90% silver).
