Right. So if you get a whole box, I'd imagine it would be strange to say they were short. But if you get a single roll of quarters at the bank and notice there it is one short or has one Canadian or one Panamanian quarter, you can easily get compensated while still there.
I’ve never complained about being short while roll hunting, but I have no issue if someone decides to. The question becomes: how do you prove it?
I have found dimes in cent rolls enough times that I know i am way ahead -- at least 10 times. And i know I have not been short 100 pennies...so...
I've also in the end come up on top. Not just because of all the silver I pull out, but because of some of the redeemable foreign coins I get. My favorite is getting half francs in my dimes, because it's like finding a half dollar each time.
I have over 12,000 wheats. All counted for and stored in 1 quart mason jars, 1200 per jar. And those are just the circulated ones.
Lets just put it this way. I found a coin that netted me about 150-160$ (I had it slabbed before I sold it). I think that one has more than paid for the comparatively few that come in rolls instead of US ones or if a roll is short by a coin. And it gave me the confidence that , yes, you can indeed find a MS-66 coin in your coin rolls.
I have been doing it so long that I have been short in rolls and over in others. I find extra quarters in certain types of rolls I pick up at my bank every Friday. These are CWR, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Nonetheless, when I see the roll I know it will have an extra quarter. After all these years I figure it balances out.
