I definitely need to invest in a good camera. This cent absolutely booms luster in hand! Check out the dies cracks on the reverse in the motto and through the A in America and under the OF and through the wheat stalks to the rim...
So...ive never really looked for lincolns in change....but i found this one interesting....somehow looks au after nearly 40 years....
I bought the whole shooting match, nice camera, lens, stand, etc. Did this for several years. It's very time consuming and expensive. I decided to just send them out to a board member on several different coin forums to test them out. Very glad I did.
Sounds like you took the wrong approach. Going out and spending a couple thousand dollars on equipment before you have the skills to use it is almost never a good idea. It's like when you're 15-1/2 years old, buy a Lamborghini, and try to learn how to drive with it. I'd bet that lighting was the reason your enterprise failed, correct? Lights cost almost nothing, and they are the hardest things to master. A better approach is to invest in modest equipment, and practice with it. Learn how to use light, and enough about photography to see if you're cut out for it. If so, then once you've mastered the modest equipment, and are making good use of it, it may make sense to upgrade.
Your pictures are OK. I can see the halo luster, the IDT luster on the reverse and parts of cartwheels on both sides. I can tell it's a blazer. NICE COIN!
This is one of the coolest finds I ever had. Back in the late 1970's and early 80's, I had a jug that I threw change into (hoping that one day I'd have enough for a plane ticket to Florida). By the late 1980's, I forgot about it, but still lugged it around each time I moved. In 2009, when I started to pick up collecting again, I went through all the change, and I found this one! (BTW, while we're at it, anyone want to estimate a grade?)
Okay just got the 2019 proof set in. I haven't even opened the proof set yet and was disappointed to find the w cent thrown under the proof set box in a little plastic baggie and not in the special envelope that was rifht there! I mean there was a special envelope and they didnot even bother to use it. So I open up the baggie and 2 smudges or something at 10 and 2 o'clock. I am soaking in fresh acetone right now hoping it comes off...reverse is awesome. Boy that is such a let down as it appears to be sloppy handling during packing that caused the damage...
