Hello everyone....I was just browsing the Heritage auction for the upcoming Paper Money show in Chicago.
Just wanted to check and see if any of you were going??

I am considering it. The Hotel rates are great at 112.00/night.....I just might take in a couple of days and sift through thousands of notes.

i would love to! unfortunatel, i cannot afford to pay the hotel rates It would be a blast though. I really need a show or 2 in Detroit drive time is grealty minimized. On the lighter side, not being able to attend the chicago money show, will have a positive impact on my bank account

 

The lake county coin club coin show is on the sunday of this same weekend in Gurnee. It depends on the wife whether I make it to both.

 

Interesting story about the Chicago Paper Money Expo. I was there for the second year.

I was there first thing in the morning on the first day. At one of the first tables, I came across a 1923 $10 Legal Tender in at least XF condition (it was in a holder so I couldn't look closer). The note had a sticker on it with $250. This was when the note was already pushing $1K for this condition. There was no one at the table. I asked the guy at the next table if he knew where the dealer was and he said he didn't know. I must have waited about 10 minutes for that dealer. I then decided to walk the aisle and stop back at the table on my way back on the other side of the aisle. It took me about 5 minutes to loop back as it was a short aisle. The dealer was back and the note was gone. Talk about a lost opportunity.

Hello Guy's...

I have just booked my flights and Hotel for the Rosemont Show.

I will arrive the 26th so I can be there for opening day 27th. I will stay all day on the 27th and depart Friday morning the 28th.
Used Airline and Hotel points so the cost is nothing except taxes..LOL gotta save the $$ for the floor!

Will be staying in the Marriott a few blocks away from the Bourse site.

Let me know how to find you as the time draws near!! Looking forward to meeting those of you who go!

Been to that show a few times in the past. Have bought some nice stuff there.

Bad news guy's... I was just informed by my CEO that I am being assigned to the Interphex BioPharmaceutical Conference in Phillie on March 26-29th..

I am so bummed out!!!

I just cancelled my reservations at the hotel and to add insult to injury, US Airways wants to charge me $100 to re-deposit the miles back into my account!
My only other option is to go next year as I have a credit for this exact flight only!
So be it I suppose...next year for sure!!

Makes me glad I'm a painter actually. On the other hand you're buying the big notes and I'm not so it all evens out (kind of)

 

I know your mind will be at the show even if you are located in Philly.

Sorry it didn't work out - maybe you will network with someone at the show that will lead to a great business opportunity - which will lead to more notes!!! Always thinking half-full!!!
