I saved it mostly because of the nice long die break that also goes into the 9. More unusual than most ones that are at this area.... not only longer, but to head on downward, also. Wish it was nicer in overall appeal.
Nice die break on the date but I'd only give it a AU-55/58. Too much goin on with the surfaces to go higher.
I'd vote ms63 . I think the obverse fields and the cheek are too mark free for it to have been in circulation.
Looking in hand, I am of the opinion that it does not actually have any wear that brings it away from a MS grade. There seems to be no high point wear either at all, and I think any issues on the coin surface can be judged to be not 'wear'. Now as far as what MS grade it would be, it has some issues and I am of the opinion that it would not exceed a MS64. It is possible, I think, that it might get that, but someone could say it's appeal is less and maybe go MS62 or 63. I doubt that it would be judged MS60 or 61 as it is not a dog in that way. I will have to continue photoing it to see what I can do to represent it better. This year I want to start shooting in as much natural light as possible, so the weather just needs to cooperate. Today was a not good for that.
I agree, it could grade 64. I had 64 as an initial number and changed it to a 63 actually.. Primarily because of its appearance (just like you said). I think you are spot on with your assessment. Good work.
