LOL, man, awesome! Wow, they might bring some good money over face on ebay, suh-weet! :thumb: Phoenix
Davedawg, You are now a currency junkie. Next you'll notice it piling up and go into denial. There's no real cure. clembo
Now you'll have to change your name to LuckyDawg. Last time I saw that many stars I was outside looking up.
Always nice to see a new currency man Dave and you are right it is saving money. I look at it this way. I've put a lot away over the years and if I absolutely had to most of it's spendable. It's actually doing so that is rough. Teller didn't know a Franklin half? Buy them lunch - most people understand food clembo
looks like they are pretty common, but still cool!:kewl: they could possibly go over face on ebay too.
Well... golly.. I need a better job or lottery ticket.... and I thought buying boxes of coins for roll searching was expensive ~ wow!! congratulations!!
Daggerjohn, Clembo, Gatzdon, Coinlover,Phoenix21.. we all know where he lives so lets go and get us some $$$$$$$ Nice Haul!! RickieB
Can anyone put a value on these sets? I need some dough and would part with them if it was worth while
It doesn't matter what a book says. You need to call around to every dealer within reasonable range and get quotes. It only matters what they are willing to pay. If you live near Chicago, you can also hit the Chicago Papermoney Expo next month and ask every dealer at every table until you get an offer you like.
Gatzdon is right. This is where paper, especially modern, can get tricky and frustrating. What you have is a large amount of high denomination notes. Doubtful that most dealers would be overly interested in more than one or two as, unless they have a ready buyer, it just sits in their inventory. Book value is $175 but if a dealer would give you $105 - 110 I'd most likely take and keep a few for myself. That way you still have a few and would actually have less than face invested in them. I know this from experience. Ran into a ton of $20 star notes - more than I could afford. Offered a bunch to a dealer I know at $23 each. Great price he said but can't afford to have them sitting in inventory. Do some digging and good luck. clembo
OK it is education time. When it comes to paper money I know NOTHING. Please inform me as to what is so special about the $100 bills. Thanks!:hail:
