Why didn't anyone tell me!!! I just found out today by fluke! I missed the Atlanta note (sold out at the BEP) and now I need to figure out how to order the New York note! As a side note, does the BEP do subscriptions like the mint? That would make this process a lot easier. Cheers, David
The New York note goes on sale Feb 25th at 12:00 noon.. Only special situations were subscriptions are available. Do what I do..check it everyday! Good luck RickieB
You may also have missed the St. Louis note...the "Double Lucky Money" product, which is also sold out, contains the H2008xxxxD notes that would match the Atlanta, New York, and San Francisco notes that are being sold singly. This seems an odd choice on the BEP's part; you'd think they'd want to put out single notes for all districts. Maybe they're not going to issue *all* of the eight as-yet-unmentioned districts, then? Or maybe they'll end up putting out eleven single notes and St. Louis in the odd packaging? Or maybe they'll eventually sell the remaining 5,112 St. Louis notes as singles, making that product scarcer than the other districts' single notes? With the BEP, who knows....
Just to sound stupid, what is the BEP? Also, I have $400 worth of $2 2003A's, something I should be looking for in there?
there is always somethign to be lookig for davedawg but the notes being talked about here have a special serial number prefix, on thses notes its 2008****, and theyare sold only to collectors for a premium. This does notmean they wont find their way into circulation, they very well could. But since they just went on sale at the BEP, i doubt you would have any of these in your lot. but radars, stars, overprints, offsets ... ect. those are all still viable to look for in your lot
Thanks for the heads up! Is there a proper way to look through notes without damaging them? I use finger cots like I do with coins but what about sliding the bank wrapper off and looking through them? They are so crisp and seemingly untouched that they are hard to separate and I sure as hell aint gonna lick my thumb or bend the corners! Anyone have any good techniques?
I run my fingers vertically up across the edge of the stack and seem to have no trouble separating one note at a time. It gets tricky when I get near the end of the stack, but I put another strap underneath to combat that problem.
