It's funny that people complain about just 4 days. Four days sounds fast if expecting a coin from a Heritage auction.
This discussion is blowing my mind. Ebay states that sellers have 7 days to ship the item generally, unless the seller states that the handling time is higher or the seller's account is set to "away" at the time of the sale. Complaining about shipping time under 7 days is unreasonable.
Four days after the auction ended isn't an incredibly long time. Personally, I like to ship items within a day or two if I can, but four days isn't something to complain about. Still, you're always going to run into complainers. The buyer may be just an a$$ or he may be trying to scam you out of $80 worth of coins. Either way, when the negative feedback comes, just add your own comment to it and let it go. You aren't in the wrong.
YES...Have been buy/sell on ebay for years and get alot of items beyobd what I would assume to be normal ship time it happens..plus there are alot of ebay buyers who are just rude and no matter what you do ding your rating...I have never recieved a even sorry for sellers late shipments. I agree its a soul buyer who just wants your money.
If he received them, and wants them free simply for waiting, its not just or reasonable. Insist he return them, and pay the shipping. This is how most businesses work. Asking for it free is a scam.
Forgive me for changing the subject. But since this is an eBay thread, I thought that I would take the opportunity to ask: I'm thinking about selling some - or, perhaps, all - of my coin collection. In twenty years on eBay, exactly 50 of my transactions have been sales to go along with many hundreds of purchases. I got to looking at seller fees which I expected to be 10 percent. Fair enough. But unless you are a "top seller" (or whatever they call it), you're subject to an additional 4 percent. Then there's another 4 percent for items that often get returned. I guess. So it looks like I'm going to be on the hook for EIGHTEEN percent. No thanks. I'll take my chances posting on Craigslist. Or here. I sent a list of my PCGS and NGC certified coins to a local dealer. He pretty much insulted me. I guess I could have seen that coming. Stevie Wonder did.
The last few times I sold slabbed coins i used Great Collections. They only charge a 5% seller fee for coins under $1000 plus a $5 catalog fee per coin. Good coins tend to do well in their auctions and you don't have the hassle of taking pictures of your coins and listing them on eBay and then spending a lot of time packaging and mailing them.
A fine example of why even collectors should try to sell a few coins from time to time. It’s not as easy or painless as so many assume.
I ship the same day or next day.....get 'er dun.... That way you don't have to listen to buyers whine.
4 days as in paid on Monday and it shipped Friday or 4 days as in they paid Thursday night and it shipped Monday. Either way it isn't really a long time but weekends and holidays actually don't count as far as eBay is concerned anyway, they only count business days.
Here is a real bargain, since they only minted 5. An 1885 Trade Dollar. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1885-TRADE...125739?hash=item4b5eecd1eb:g:2bYAAOSw9-hceFdc
There is so much wrong with this listing. To name a few, circulated PR 70, NGC certification (not in a NGC slab), .....
Why is anyone in a hurry for a coin though? It's not a time sensitive product. You dont consume it or depend on it for any tangible purpose. Why not just keep the coins you ordered and ding the seller in his feedback for delayed shipping?
