That only works, if the note is the same grade, standards are very different
Between PCGS and PMG take it from a guy theat,s crossed over 100,s
Just become its a 67 at PCGS doesnt mean it will be a 67 at PMG
I dont see this working to well at all :(

A quote on a different forum,

“I think that both companies are prone to making the occasional mistake. The important thing is that both stand behind their grades with a guarantee. That's never changed and isn't going to change in the near future.

Anyone who has such an obvious bias for one company over the other that it leads them to dig up examples of the other company's mistakes, in order to "prove" that the other company is either incapable or unethical, either has a severe axe to grind or else has something to gain by doing so. I've always cautioned this sort of exercise, even by those who prefer my company's grading, because there are plenty of examples that can be presented as "evidence" in either direction. Over the years, I've found that most differences in grades by the two companies are legitimate differences of opinion by only a point or two. Examples of extreme overgrading or undergrading by either company are extremely rare, and even then in most cases they can be explained by human error.” - Jason W Bradford

Why a collector would throw more money at a PCGS graded note to have it graded again doesn’t make sense to me.

It makes sense if your collecting focus is stroking your ego by having a high scoring registry set.

PMG is trying to take advantage of the traction Legacy is losing by not having its registry online.

Another reason for SPMC or other organization to create a universal registry.

I also think some people are afraid of pcgs guarantee not being upheld in the future.

I’ve had this thought for years.

But, who’s to say which TPGs would qualify ?
And wouldn’t the collectors with really nice raw notes feel abandoned ?

I don't get the registry and thing and never will, but if there is a central registry, some kind of validation will be required, and that's gotta be TPG based and it's going to be like eBay/HA - not everyone can play.

I've seen a lot of PMG notes and I go "what...", I think they overgrade nationals, I have seen 10 and 12 PPQ'd noted from PCGS and I go "what...", fact is nobody's opinion is 100% concurrent with anothers, so, we just do our best...

Its not making mistakes, its a different grading philosophy all together
Each company has its own standards, that,s where the rub comes in.

The PMG - PCGS debate I equate to Coke - Pepsi....both are the top tier cola sodas. Whereas CGA would be the store brand.

Then the question would be, do you like coke better ? and would be Pepsi be
Okay ? and i never buy the store brand...LOL

I am going to try and get ahold of Laura Kessler at PCGS, tomorrow or
Now as its called K3B , and see what the skinny is, as there is currently
Just a message saying that the licensing agreement has expired and
Little else, with no data base or registry to check current and past
    Notes.

Good luck calling Laura at PCGS/K3B. She does not work there any longer.

Whoever sets it up would determine which TPG's qualify. And there is no reason that raw notes could not be included but they would likely only be described using words (UNC, AU) rather than numbers.

I envision a user populated database where each individual would enter their own notes. Whatever data is necessary for identification, the grade and TPG. If not graded then note it is raw. Pictures are a must. There would need to be some validation of the raw notes but since numerical grades would not be used that would not be as difficult to do from a scan.

If awards were being handed out they could be best overall, best for each grading service, best raw in each category.

I am just throwing this out there as an idea. From my work with the old MPC database this would not be difficult to program. The logistics of paying for the site and server space for all those images could be problematic.

Laura Kessler has gone to work for Heritage (according to press releases)
Frankly I think collectors need to take a "chill pill" and remember:
BUY THE NOTE -- NOT the holder.

They have TPG,S for a reason, if raw is your thing, i say go for it !!
And if you want 10,000 opinions go for that as well, every body has
    There own opinion ;)
