Hello Everyone... How are you all? Sorry for the delay in posting the Winners to the Paper Money Contest! I had business travel the past 2 days! WOW!! what a finish it was for those who participated. There were 4 people that provided answers to all three Elements! I commend you all for the work it took looking up and reading these facts that interest me so much! The four members who completed the challenge are; RichieB16, Jon67, Tater and LSM!!! Congrats guys it was indeed some work.:high5: The bonus questions, 3 in total only 2 of them were answered correctly by SmokeMonkey!! Congrats to you.:high5: SmokeMonkey won a 1924 Peace Dollar in XF to AU...hard for me to grade these coins, I hope I am right! He also won a CHCU $1 note of my choice that I will choose from duplicates from the New York collection!! Drum roll please......... There were two individuals who received the following scores and timestamps; (Grades were based on questions as a whole and sub parts) RichieB16 Completed all 3 Elements in a combined time of 10:15 min with 96% of the answers correct!:high5: Jon67 completed all 3 Elements in a combined time of 25:07 min with 94.6% correct. ( with Jon's performance I have decided to give him a $2 NY star note my choice) What a great effort these guy's as well as all of you who submitted put in to it! I did not expect to have a 100% answer (although that was a stipulation in the contest) however, I did always mention the fastest time stamp. The Winner by % correct and fastest timestamp is RichieB16 let's here it for RichieB16!! Congrats and again I appreciate the effort by you all. Thanks Ben...I admit it took me quite a while to find the right questions and some I did internet searches on before I asked tehm to determine the degree of difficulty! i want to thank rickie for putting up all the prizes for the contest AND i especially want to thank him for making me earn these prizes. this wasnt just some contest you enter by posting in a thread and he picks your name at random. oh no, you had to look for information, double check it to make sure you had it right and then wait to see if you were right and got your answer in first. as a beginner collector it took some searching for the right answers but i found them. i didnt think i was going to win anything in this contest, someone else had to push me to enter this and to be honest im glad they did. this is the first contest ive won on this forum. this is my first peace dollar ive ever had. heck i even won two prizes. i surprised myself by finding the right answers and i amazed myself by winning two prizes.
Hello everyone.... a message to all of you including the folks who did not win. I really appreciate the work put in to this. It was fun and educational for me as well. For those of you who had connection problems and those of you whom became stricken with the flu bug..I really understand and hope you will participate in another contest I will plan later on in the future. i didnt get mine yet. i hate the mail! im also expecting some books and those must be on a slow boat FROM china. stupid post office.
You have to look at it this way SmokeMonkey. How long have you lived WITHOUT those notes? What's a few more days, weeks, months, years?
and i just got the mail and i have my prizes. the note is wonderful. it really is CHCU. i like it. but the main attraction is the peace dollar. it has excellent luster on it. it is XF for sure with a shot at being AU. i absolutely love it.
