Machine doubled mintmark but all surrounding areas are normal.

It's not an RPM---punching the mintmark onto the die by hand ended in the early 90's. Speedy
Yea, I know it's not a rpm. Just strange that its only on the mintmark. Maybe damage to the die.
Die-deterioration double I would say. Just a thought, because the 'D' looks larger.
That would be my guess as well. Nickel is pretty hard on the dies.
