That is DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged

Someone very bored made notches on edge of the Cent. Why? Only the person who did it would know.

Not a Mint Error.

 

clearly damage / PMD.

looks like someone was trying to make the edge look like a dime. But probably got tired due to the effort needed and gave up.

 

Paddy, I think CoinRoller, Profit Man and Josiah Rush should be locked in the same closet together.

I personally would like to hear the description of why it *couldn't* be PMD.

 

I'm surprised he didn't think it was a doubled die!

That's a coin I would like to find.

 

you should be able to make one better than that.
use a single cut file as the edge die, and push/roll a penny across it. You may have to use a light mallet to tap it down as you roll it to get the entire edge well defined.

That would be a lot easier than whoever did that above.

True - but I would rather find those kind of coins and wonder who did it and why.
