So I found this 20 star note that checks out as "rare" on the star note checker app. So what does that mean? I looked in ebay and they dont seem to bring all that much. Am i missing something?
To me these modern stars are spenders. It would have to be immaculate and crisp. This has a stain and wrinkles/folds. I don't know what the "print run" is, but to me unless it is the bare minimum, it's $20.
What is the "star note checker app"? Can you provide a link? I'd like to check it out. Otherwise, my opinion is similar to Michael's. If you don't already have a star 20 then keep it till you get a better one. If you already have a better one, then spend it. I collect * notes, among other notes, but I'm always trying to improve my collections. BTW, the "rare" may refer to the serial number having two 0's in front.
Well, only 640,000 printed altogether. I have a 320k run $20 star note when almost 7,000,000 were printed altogether. Don't expect a substantial premium, but I think that it's worth keeping. Notes that have a substantial premium are lower denominations like $1, $2, $5, and maybe $10. $20, $50, $100 typically do not carry a high value over face.
Jim.. Honestly.. It's not worth keeping. Spend it. I dont know how sellers of paper currency make any money. There are listing fees and selling fees. I wouldn't waste my time doing it.
It's a spender. The bill is wrinkled with a large one across Jackson's face. The bill has 2 different colored stains along the top. Collectors want a modern bill to be perfect.
If you happen to have a hoard of Series 2013 $1 J-* notes, it's worth listing those. The notes can sell from $20-$100 depending on condition. I had one a couple of months ago, and sold it for $66. Also had a true binary note once (only 1s and 0s) and someone paid $30 for it. But, you're right, the majority of paper currency doesn't have a significant premium.
^^^^^^As I said before^^^^^^ As others are saying, the value isn't there. The only reason to keep it would be because you don't already have one.
Awesome!! I REALLY appreciate the help. I dont know a lot about what currency is actually worth keeping or trying to sell other than the ovbious really low number or extreme examples of other fancy types. You see all these videos of guys making a big deal out of mostly face value notes. So thank you again gentlemen!!!!!!
