So uh, Im just wondering what you guys think of this one??? I just seen this one and Im confused. Its pretty dug up to like someone gripped it with pliers and reeded the edge themselves. But could this actually happen if not done intentionally??? http://cgi.ebay.com/1913-D-LINCOLN-...ryZ39456QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I dont think so. If it was dime-size maybe... (i.e. went in the dime thing) but it looks like someone tooled this. (must have taken a while)
Definatly hit with a file on the sides. Note how some of the "reeds" come to a point on one side of the edge. That was from not taking a level stroke with the file.
Ha, classic. Heck, I was trying to do some internet research yesterday on a Philip the Bold double denier from the region of Burgundy (1342 - 1404), and I couldn't find any information about it at all, so it must be extremely rare! Actually, I purchased it for $10 at a show a few months back. Old, interesting, and not necessarily well-represented on the web, but certainly not rare by any stretch of the imagination.
