    This is perhaps the most common Hard Times token, but the luster on this one was too nice to pass up. The donkey with the "LLD" on its belly refers to Andrew Jackson and the honorary Doctor of Law that Harvard University awarded to him in the 1830s. Harvard Alums, like John Quincy Adams were outraged his school with give a degree to a man "who could barely write his name."

    The seller had these listed as 3 Washington silver quarters for a BIN of 21 dollars. I had to make sure I was reading it right. After looking through the sellers listed items, I saw he had 2 more "Washington Quarters." for sale for another low BIN." Of course I snatched them up. Pics aren't great, but for the price, you can't beat it. These halves were listed as Washington quarters on both ads.
