PCGS coin a fake?

I bought the coin below several months ago and I tried to put it in my PCGS registry set online and it said the number is invalid. Does this mean the coin is fake?

I put it in the PCGS registry app and it came up fine.

 

I even scanned it.

 

The cert number checks out.
Is it possible someone already has the coin in a reg set?

You might want to try and email PCGS (possibly with a picture of both sides) and find out why it isn't working for the registry.

 

I would call or email them. It should be easy to fix.

 

Maybe it's still listed under someone else's name or as part of someone else's registry?

Ok that coin sold through Heritage in August. I went back and looked at my receipts and the date was July 19 2018

 

If you bought it BEFORE the auction, then I think there's a problem.

 

It seems they're two different coins. Not good at all.

 

According to the PCGS certificate verification

so some else probably still has it listed in their set. It may also be a case where this number has been used on a fake PCGS slab so there is more than one of them out there floating around.

 

I finally got the number to work so its in my PCGS inventory. However I emailed the dealer I bought it from as I'm concerned its a fake as it didn't scan and the coins look different.
