Wow here's a story I find interesting a member of cointalk has been banned with no explanation no nothing. He's been a member since November 2017 also a supporter of this web site, he's been ill the last couple of months. So he hasn't been on here as much as normal. He has over 2500 post not one of them negative no cuss words no smart aleck comments to any member. I have read the rules and not one rule was broken by him (NOT ONE) in any of his post. He has sent 3 emails asking for an explanation for this action not one email has been returned as of today. I'm hoping that the moderators or Peter will look up his account and at least give him the respect of an email giving him an explanation. I have spoke with a well-known member of cointalk in private messages which knew him he says it has to be a mistake there's no way that he should have ever been banned. The moderators continue to ask members 2 respect other members so all he's asking is that they give him the respect that they expect from all their members. So in closing I hope that someone on this site we'll take the time and investigate this and if it is a mistake correct it if it's not then send him an email and give him the respect he deserves. The members name is (Dave363) thank you for your time.
Well I know him personally other than coins that's a reason I also joined but if you knew him he's just not that type of person and if you go back and look at all the post that are still on there it would be out of character. For him to say anything to get banned.
Well when I spoke with him last night he hadn't been reinstated at that point also he hadn't heard anything from coin talk in any of his emails.
No he says that when he tried to login all it says you have been banned that's it no explanation no nothing that's the reason he sent the emails and never got a response back on those either.
I'm sure the mods will see your thread and look into it. As a normal, the mods will not say much about this type of thing. For good reason, they won't discuss private stuff about a member.
And yes I understand that he feels that it was a mistake but when he couldn't get any response from them and I spoke with him I thought well that's fine I'll go ahead and make a post and maybe they'll at least take a look at it.
I am not sure why. There must have been a reason. Ask the moderators. If he continued to go against the rules they will ban him. If he kept trying to sell something in a wrong place that gets you banned. If he was rude to other members that gets you banned. If he was swearing that gets you banned. I have no idea what he did ??? I knew a member named stevex6 that got banned for being very rude to some members. I miss him dearly because he had some very funny coin humor. They kept warning him, but I get he crossed the line way to many times.
Usually, bad members stick out like a sore thumb but I do not recall anything by him that would have sounded an alarm. But then, I do not see every post or go backwards to catch up. I'm only online a few hours a day. I would hope that a mod would eventually chime in, not with details, but maybe a short explanation. In the politically correct world we find ourselves in, it does not take much anymore to make a mistake, intentionally or not, to get into trouble. Even on Facebook, certain key words will not allow you to post. A couple years back, two members here were banned for life even though they took their differences to private messaging. And I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's where they both go into the trouble that got them banned. But it started on their regular posts, so they were both already warned and did not comply with the rules. I hope you eventually find your answer.
I would suggest sending a private message to the mods, they will be the most helpful is there is anything that can be done to resolve the situation.
Is there a dedicated forum thread for inquiring about MIA members? One comes to mind - sakata - anyone know anything?
