Wondering if this is pmd or some kind of minting error looking at the reverse I would say pmd as its pretty beat up looking at obverse I would say I have no clue because the letters involved with the exception of the A and R appear at least to me to not be affected. Thanks for any input. IMG_20190226_083207.jpg IMG_20190226_083054.jpg IMG_20190226_083054.jpg IMG_20190226_083232.jpg

It sure has me stumped! It doesn't look like a clash or a strikethrough, and it doesn't look like some sort of PMD because the letters are largely intact. Let's see if @Fred Weinberg or @paddyman98 will chime in.

Given the appearance on the obverse, and
    the stained/discolored reverse, it appears
to be PMD, and not an error.

However, better photos would be helpful.
It's possible it's a 'struck thru' obv., but
    I can't tell from what I see.

Could it have been a bad planchet? If you loo at it at a angle do you see where the metal looks pushed? By someone?

Absolute best pictures I can get with what I have. I guess I should just assume it's damage due to the damage on reverse. Is there somewhere I could possibly send it and have someone smart look at it in hand? That won't cost a bunch of money. IMG_20190226_162142.jpg IMG_20190226_162035.jpg IMG_20190226_162239.jpg

I can't tell much I just don't understand how someone could have done it without messing up the letters. As far as planned also no clue. There's alot I don't understand.

When you put your pics in make sure you use the full screen not thumb nails. And alot of times if you back up your cam then zoom in it works better try to get some close ups that way and at a angle.

Thanks I thought I did use full images and with the camera on my tablet from 2016 the further away I go the blurrier it gets. Would really like to get a better camera but in the winter I suck at life and ends don't always meet.

I know what you are saying. Do you know of anyone with a newer cell phone that can take some pics close up including angles of that area? I usally back my cell up about 2 feet or so then zoom in and wait for it to clear up and snap if to much zoom it will be blury just look for the sweet spot. But Fred is usually spot on and if you Google him, you will see that he is the best.

I am not seeing any damage on the reverse relating to the obverse marks. I think it is likely a planchet error but Fred would know better.

Here the thing its not going to be worth much at all if it was an error couple bucks, So your best course would be to get better close ups crop out everything else. And re post them in a new thread some time.

Sorry, but I do not accept coins for evaluation.

If I did so, from everyone who asks to ship me coins for
my examination, I would not get anything done in my office.

That's what this website/chatroom is for - if you post the
right photos, there are numerous experts and experienced
collectors who can help out with coins.

I'm glad to view coins at coin shows, but not mailed to me -
it's really time consuming to receive, open, evaluate,
communicate, wrap, and ship back packages that aren't part
of our day-to-day business. Not to mention the risk of
losing or misplacing coins, and the constant emails and
phone calls about 'my coin' 'why is is not an error', and lots
of other time consuming questions and actions that I've
    found take place.

Don't mean to sound rough or not-helpful, but I've learned that
I simply don't have the time to look at coins that folks would like
to send me - from over 47 years of full-time experience.

@paddyman98 I posted this awhile back, when I went to the coin shop the other day I had the owner look at it. He said it was glue and to soak it in acetone. While there I also bought a 10x Louie so I shot some pics through that I was wondering if you could take a look and give me your god's honest opinion. Also would it hurt to soak in acetone or not. Thanks in advance. Even if it is not a valuable error I would like to know how to label it if it is some kind of error.
