I came across this fun 1960 P Jefferson last night and thought everyone would enjoy it. Just about everything on it has some doubling.
What are the odds? I found another one just about like it. 1960 P with almost everything doubled. Get some photos later.
Yes, I'm sure they are. It was sort of a surprise to find two from 1960 that look so much alike in my pile of coins.
Hello Inspector 43 ~!~! I seen the nickel list you posted and saw that you put small s and large S for 1941.... I didn't realize that there was a s and S ??? I looked at 1 of my coin book sites and it's not listed.... I haven't searched the web yet, if I did I would gotten distracted and would have forgotten to post this LOL.... Let me know Mon Ami ~!~!
It's listed in the Cherrypickers Guide (CPG) as FS-05-1941S-501. The "Large S" is rarer than the (normal) "Small S". Chris
Yes, there are 2 variations. I see that @cpm9ball gave you some more information. I will put some pictures up of the two later.
merci for the info .... I did look it up on the web and saw that there were 2 S's ......... I just got back into the game after a few years hiatus ... Still have a bunch of my silver and oldie rarity coins.... Still in storage buried under 8 years or more of storing the wifes stuff...
I just recently got back to my 70 year accumulation. Here is a link to that project https://www.cointalk.com/posts/3295784/
If you are dealing with general reference books you will find that there is a LOT that isn't listed in them. You need the specialized references for the different series to see everything. For example if you wan the latest reference that covers all the varieties of seated half dollars, it is six volumes, each of several hundred pages. (Only five have been published so far, sixth is still to come.)
Yep! J.T. Stanton (R.I.P.) once told me that if they listed every variety that was requested by collectors the CPG would be one dozen or more volumes. Chris
