Good day all! My first post. I have been trying to find lots of normal circulation quarters for the park quarters from 2010-2013. There were so many fewer quarters released those years that my goal of collecting 40 of each has been so slow going.

Besides the normal routes of quarter getting... anyone have any thoughts? I am willing to buy them from people too obviously. :)

    Thank you in advance!

    Welcome to the neighborhood, Brian!

If you're willing to pay for them, I would imagine that you can find original Mint-wrapped rolls on eBay. Wouldn't this be better than collecting rolls of circulated coins in varying states of condition?

Welcome to CoinTalk! I agree with Chris, if you plan on paying over face value, it's worth purchasing mint state coins.

    Welcome to CT.

I have been searching for nicer, circulated quarters since the state quarters (so many years). I find some joy in searching through boxes of quarters that I get from the bank too. I'll get a box every couple of months from the bank. It's pretty common to find a very nice quarter. I've filled a Whitman folder with my finds. Not everyone has the patience for this. And, to what end? For me, I'm happy to fill the Whitman with my finds.

I found a Western buddy (I'm near Boston) here in CoinTalk (there is a trade forum) to exchange P's for D's. I travel quite a bit too so I generally find the D's.

Having said that, I have been buying the rolls from the mint for many years (it's a bit pricey). I'm sitting on them, unopened. In a couple of years, when the Park quarters are done, I plan on opening them all and having a look. At that time, I'll probably put them in sets and sell them. Who knows what's in the rolls. That will take some time!

Folks on this board can certainly relate to what I'm doing. Everyone has their own way of approaching this hobby. No one in my family has the same appreciation that I have for the hobby. My son, who lives in SF, sent me a text the other day. He told me that he got a nice, shiny coin in his change recently and he thought of me. I choose to only think of that in a nice way.

You will find many older threads about similar topics (and this topic specifically).

Meow stated CRH about a year ago, and has the same approach. Meow has looked through a few thousand rolls, and has managed to get quite a few of the State and ATB quarters in uncirculated condition. Not an issue at all, as Meow loves CRH. The only ones Meow is still missing, are the first few years of both series in P mint. Meow does not get many P mint coins where Meow lives. It would have been a lot easier if Meow started CRH a bit sooner. But better late than never. Happy CRH everyone! Purrrrr!

Oh, and buying the coins would be a solution as a few has mentioned. But to Meow that would take all the fun out of it. People still fish for recreation, even if the fish where readily available at the market. The thrill of the hunt puts the H in CRH! It feels nice to get a hold that one quarter to fill the tube or album. Just as much as getting paws on that mouse that has eluded you, fills you with exhilaration finally once in paw and put down.

Meow, I see what you mean, but, even in 2014-15 I looked at my change each time, and found very few 2010-2012 Quarters. Last year, I was fortunate enough to find a 2012 Acadia, but (I haven't checked mintage), I think a lower mintage may be suspect for their scarcity.

So, personally, I had to purchase each 2010, '11, and '12 quarter, because the only quarters I have from those years are the unc. Acadia and heavily circulated Gettysburg and Chaco Culture. I did manage to save two BU rolls of Bombay Hook "D" quarters from 2015.

The answer to that will be to keep on hunting! Meow has just come home, and has 16 rolls of quarters, and 40 roll of pennies to paw through in the next few days. Meow CRH every day, even just a little one busy days. You never know when that pesky little mouse, is just around the corner! Still working on being the best CRH Cat in the world!

The key with all CRH in trying to fill a "set" is volume. One way to get a high volume of quarters (besides rolls or boxes) is to buy a bag off of a coin counting machine if your bank has a machine and is willing to sell it to you. A full bag is typically $1000 which is alot of quarters! I managed to complete a set of circulated Statehood Quarters and am complete up through 2017 on ATB Quarters having just found the Philly Yellowstone. Not from just one bag either, but multiple bags and rolls. I still upgrade my albums to a nicer coin when I find one (lol) and keep a list of coins I want to upgrade handy. I probably would not buy a quarter coin machine bag just for the hope of finding silver. Silver quarters, IMO, are just too hard to find CRH. But if you are looking for Statehood & ATB and you find a silver - bonus!

In the one year of CRH Meow has done, Meow has found some silver. 2 war nickels (one in the 2nd nickel roll Meow ever hunted), 7 dimes, and 7 quarters. Oh, and two buffalo nickels. Yes they all where very hard to come by, but they are such exciting little treasures to find.

How many rolls did you search?
That’s quite a bit of silver.

About 12 rolls a week of quarters. Other denoms, a little less.

This week Meow acquired 36 quarter rolls, and 60 penny rolls. Have not hit silver for many months. Paws crossed, hoping for a good find.

Volume is the key like Texag said but, the discount bins at coin shows are a great second place to pick up coins in good condition for a little More money and a lot less time.
