Okay, first I want to apologize for the stupid question, I'm about to ask. But rather than screwing things up, I figure I should ask first.

I've been a Whitman Classic Album user back in the day till today. BUT today I got my first Dansco album.

How in the HECK do you get the coins in there? :headbang:

    Please be gentle.... lol

    • Place coin over opening.
    • Place soft cloth over coin.
    • Strike cloth with framing hammer.
    • Repeat as often as necessary.

There is a slide film on both sides of the page, just slide the the top plastic out and place the coin in the hole good luck.

I have about 12 of them, they are awesome. i do not have any Whitman classic albums to compare them to but they seem to do a good job, except with my heavily circulated barber dime collection. They keep sliding through to the next slot, unless there is a coin in there. Any suggestions on that ?

    Regards,
    S

    Bruce -

Thanks for the help. Unlike the Whitmans there's a thumb tab that allows you to simply pull it from the side. Dansco's don't have that and rather than inadvertantly splitting the sheets, I guess you have to use your fingers and try to push the mylar sheet along until enough sticks out enough to pull from the side. That was the big hangup. Thanks!

Take a coin flip and cut a small piece off and use it as a shim inside the hole I do this all the time with the coins in my 7070 type set it works.

I use those rubber finger guards you put over a cut on your finger works just fine.

I contacted Dansco and the only thing they said was "not to use a framing hammer, too much bounce back, use a ball peen".

    LOL.

Slide the plastic covers out. Place coin in slot. Slide cover back.

I'm sure there could be some hammering involved.

You folks know how to make a guy feel welcomed! Thanks for the info everyone! BTW, I bring your attention again to my caveat at the beginning of the thread where I apologized for submitting this seemingly "stupid" question. :p.

this is quite a bunch we have here, topcover, welcome! I have grown quite fond of this bunch and their often silly take on things, but seriously if there is a question that I can't find in my books, this is the first place I turn to ask it. The breadth and depth of experts here is quite amazing.

ok, guys... I said it... now, seriously... can I have my key to the restroom back??? please????
