American Innovations Dollar

Perusing the U.S. Mint's website, I see they are offering the following options for the four American Innovations Dollars scheduled for 2019 (PA, GA, NJ, and DE):

    Uncirculated bags and rolls (P & D)
    Uncirculated set (set of 8 coins, P & D)
    Proof set (4 coins, S)
    Reverse proof DE (S)
    Reverse proof GA (S)
    Reverse proof PA (S)
    Reverse proof NJ (S)

So they're going to sell four reverse proof variants separately.

Along with the enhanced Kennedy half in the Apollo set and the 2019-W cent added to the clad proof set, it seems obvious to me the mint's marketing plan is to step up the production of one-off, unique issues to boost sales. They've done this before, of course, but it seems to be gaining momentum.

I bought the Kennedy half but I will pass on the cent and Innovation dollars. Time to get back to my roots and return to classic silver and type coins.

It is a bit too much for Meow. This Cat's wallet is only so large. Meow would rather see another coin and currency set. Meow liked those a lot.

I just buy the common one for my album. Too costly and confusing otherwise.

I think one of the more attractive coins released by the mint in a while. I determine whether I buy more when I see the new designs.

I did buy 2 proofs and one each P & D uncirculated for the 2018 introduction year. I don't think I'll pursue any others.

I can't keep up with all of this 'junk'...........but I do pick and choose.

Agree Ken. I do like this new design. I don't go for the 5 oz. pucks or a lot of the other stuff. I have found the new Silver Presidential medals to be interesting. Keeping up with the US Mint is a piece of cake compared to the Canadian Mint and Perth Mints!

I did go for the silver Presidential medals.........I love the classic designs. Such history intended. Hard to capitalize on an original design.

I had Washington and recently added Adams and Jefferson. I added them to a recent Mint Order (Apollo 11 silver proof).

I hope I'm not interrupting a "small" group. I didn't know where to post this, but I am addicted to commemorative coins from the mint. I was lucky enough to get all 3 of the gold coins in 2016..the dime, quarter, and half dollar and they are pretty. And I fell in love with the Apollo 11 coins. I got the 5 oz proof, 1 oz proof, the first "picture" of the trio, the $5 Gold Proof, and the half dollar set just before they closed. Any 12 step programs for that?

You can always start your own thread on the topic. There is a recently started thread in the Coin Chat Forum titled "What is your Numismatic Specialization or Focus". I think your post would fit in well there.

Well crap... went to their site and looked at the proof set to see they aren't including all of the $1 coins like they did for the presidents. I was hoping they would be included and I could just pick up the reverse proofs separately. Now looks like I have to do everything separately. :(

    My poor wallet.

Sorry, but I am enthusiastic! I will be getting rolls of these for circulation to spend on the street when and as I can. What is better than celebrating American Innovation? (Except maybe celebrating American Capitalism and American Individualism?).

Re-read "Francisco's Money Speech." Heck, re-read Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead.

I show the Code Talkers to my cyber-security friends. And we have the Native American Astronauts which is a good way to get someone's attention. But this, American Innovation.
    It rocks!
