Would appreciate opinions on grade and value of my 1876-CC Half Dollar

newbie post here.

Would really appreciate opinions on my best U.S. coin.
Please be gentle if it is fake, I know more about stamps than coins.

I bought this coin from a lovely old gentleman that lived in the U.S. in the 1980's

I believe that it is a fake medium CC half. Die diagnostics don't match up.

I have no idea what this means, could you help a newbie with a short explanation please?
