Better get your head down - we have some members who get violent over the concept of bid sniping!

The sniper with the highest proxy bid will win. It would just make for a hectic final couple of seconds is all.

Well...in a real auction the bidding ends when al l interested parties have had one final chance to place the high bid. With eBay, the bidding ends when the clock runs out. If everyone placed their highest bid to start with, sniping would be a non-issue. But, with sniping, the price die snot go as high as it would otherwise - that is precisely why people snipe.

As for the plaque, that is a great piece. I am fairly sure it has been clesned, however, as art bronzes are always finished with a darker patina. The cleaning definitely affects the value, but I am sure it was a good deal in any case.

You got a fair deal on the plaque ambro.
Some of these sell for much more.
    The display sounds really cool.

Might I strongly suggest mahogany ?
Coins can be affected in a very bad way by the vapors of wood.

BTW... That is an AMAZING plaque you got there !

These plaques are really special to many Lincoln cent collectors and many collect the plaques as well. Get a few cent collectors bidding on one of these and the prices can get crazy.:)

Over the years these have been made in several sizes and the prices range from $30 to $4000. There is even a small size made of silver.
There are also some fakes out there so be careful.
