Hey guys I thought id show off what I found this morning while working on my house. The house I live in was built around 1900 in New England. I have slowly been remodeling the place over the past year and after a few cold days went into my basement this morning to find out what the problem was with my heating. I have Forced air for heating and the duct work has been in place about 80 years unchanged. Anyhow I decided to see if my forced air pipes have ever been cleaned out. So I take broom and head down to knock on the pipes to listen if I hear any solid sounds. As to see if I can hear maybe something disrupting my air flow. So ok I'm going along banging the pipes above my head with a broom handle listing for any soiled sounds, to find where the clogs turn out be. I notice that there are some screens put into the pipes about 4 feet from floor level above, under each floor vent to the first floor. I believe to stop objects from falling back in to the main junction box for the boiler that I happen to have changed when I moved in but I didn't bother to change the pipes because they are in pretty good shape even for such a old system, plus I am dreading the thought of changing them to the second floor. So I think ok. I can fix this quick and easy for the time being and head upstairs with the shop vac. After fighting with the metal floor covers 100 year old screws I stick the vacuums hose into the ducts and start sucking up dust, dirt dust and dust Bunny's that have been building up for all those years. My Vac plugs up a few times and I clear it out to find some old cat toys, a few plastic army figures, a couple of those super balls, some jacks, marbles and yes A LOT more dust. The last vent I vacuumed out is in the Kitchen which oddly enough was remolded at least once, about 40 years ago. I get another clog and this is what I pull out. I am in disbelief but sure as a cold day is cold and after a quick rinse off in the sink this is what I found at the end of my Vacuums hose.

I am having a good. My question now is.How long had this been in there? It looks MS other then a crazy colors.

Now that is a very cool find. Makes you want to just rip down the rest of the walls, huh? :p

Looks MS64 but then again thats some harsh toning.

WOW that is cool. Has to be the coolest coin find story Ive heard yet. Now, if your slowly remodeling the rest of the house, check above all the door frames when you have the walls down. People would place a cent above each door frame in the house as good luck. Ive been helping my buddy remodel his house and when we gutted the place we checked and we found a cent over every door. Everything was turn of the century and in great shape. Toned alittle funny, but in great shape. There was a few Indians, but most were wheaties. Anyhow, we stole them from their hiding spots to keep them safe during construction. We also wrote a note to ourselves to help remember where each one was found. Once construction is done, we will figure out a nice way to display them on the outside of the wall. And then hang each one above the door frame where it was found.

No kidding,, sence this morning I have been thinking. What else can a start working on next. I havent hardly taken a crack at the second floor yet. I do know that the family that lived here before me was here for a very long time. I think about 70 year's I did find some wheatie's a while back that where stuck under a door jam but they looked pretty beat up. I was just sitting here looking at this Morgan and wondering to myself. When did it fall down there? What did the person think when they dropped it and it rolled into the vent? But like i said my biggest question is HOW LONG was it there. After i posted this I went and dug thought the mess inside my shop Vac and didnt find anything else. :(

I showed my wife this coin and she said she thought it was ugly. lol I said to her. ( My love you do not know what you looking at.) lol After a few seconds she says to me it feel warm in here. lololol
