Got this baby in the mail today, 1832, O-111, (R1). Appears to be in VF30/35 condition with a few contact scratches on Liberty's eye-brow and on the reverse near the olive leaves. Drats, wish I could capture the iridescent colors it displays. Take Care Ben
gorgeous coin! most all look better in hand anyway unless its photoshopped. i agree w/ your grade assessment as well. w/o digging out the grading book, the reverse looks close to xf 40. nicely centered on planchet as well. just a hint of the die wear taking place as the stars elongate near the bust of liberty. you really get in some nice coins. thank you for sharing them......steve
Ben: Nice coin, but it looks cleaned in the picture-- probably just the lighting. Well, that is one less that you need. :thumb:
Cleaned edited, you must be blind in one eye and crazy in the other... ROTFLing. The brightness is from the neon (OTT Light) lighting and the camera. Here are the auction pics you old 19th Century Coin Pirate. KissKissKiss
Going off the second set of pictures - I agree that coin has not been cleaned. It looks really nice and is in my opinion easily a VF30coin. Very nice!
That is exactly what I'm looking for to fill the CBH hole in my 7070. I will be posting links here for opinions...... Nice coin digger !
Thanks Jack, this one makes 125 coins and 116 different varieties in the the old BCBHDC. Take Care Ben
Frank, I'm sure you realize my edited post above was simply posted in JEST only, LOL... Take care Ben
Uh, no. I din't realize that it was in jest, and I fully expect to be able to inspect that piece in hand, preferably tomorrow, use FedEx, if it absolutely, positively has to be there overnight. Why on Earth would I have ever thought that you were (explective deleted) kidding? Huh? Huh? Huh?
On a serious note, do any of your 1832's have milling between the words "HALF A DOLLAR OR FIFTY CENTS?" Apparently this one does. These are only two areas, but the milling appears to be around the entire edge where there are no letters. Take Care Ben
Nevermind, just read in the Overton that the 1832 is supposed to have it so I reckon yours do too. Take Care Ben
