Ok. Let's start! I see minor doubling on the Liberty on the obverse, then I don't like the way the Mintmark looks( too thick), after that the whole E PLURIBUS UNUM appears to my eyes as a double die and on top of that the whole lettering on the reverse is weird. Unequal? Doubling? ( Especially the "alien" M in AMERICA) i ve been dealing with this coin for over one hour. Please throw some thoughts on the table cause it's driving me crazy!I love it and I hate it at the same time!!!!ps: I apologize in advance for the number of the pics. Thank you guys!!
I've noticed lately that you've given up correcting people on "Doubled Die vs. Double Die". What gives? Chris
It was getting tiring.. and some members were annoyed by it. So I just decided to avoid it .. I don't feel like it matters any more
I feel your pain! It seems like we get more people here who only care what their coin is worth. They don't want to learn about numismatics. Chris
@sunday13 It's good that you are so curious about your coin finds. You also ask great questions. Some of the answers for your questions are very simple. I will try to explain them better... I promise
Actually, we've always "been on the same side of the street". So, let me ask you. Do you know the difference between the two? Chris
Curious wouldn't be the word to describe me. Obsessed would!!!hahhaah!. Listen, don't worry. Sometimes you answer back very fast( like you haven't even troubled of getting a 2nd glance) , but like I said, I trust you. If you see me not debating any of your answers, it means that I was leaning towards that option anyways. If I need any more explanation, I wouldn't hesitate to ask for. You have proven yourself to be very tolerant. Correct? Thank you for taking time to answer back. Talk soon!
What do you mean? Difference btw which two? Omg! I just realised! You mean grammatically @cpm9ball ? You have got to be kidding me right?
This will explain it better - https://www.doubleddie.com/144801.html Quote - "One of the first clues that you may be buying from someone who doesn’t know much about doubled dies would be when you see a coin being offered as a “double die.” The correct term is “doubled die”. On genuine doubled dies the doubling is on the die that strikes the coins, hence the term “doubled die”.".. closed quote
What is you question exactly? If I know how to distinguish between active and passive voice? @cpm9ball I'll be straight with you. I don't get offended when people correct me as far as my English is concerned. On the contrary I pay respect, as long as it derives from good will ( I assume your observation is one of that kind) , therefore I really appreciate your intentions, and due to the fact that I plan on selling some coins ( which I haven't posted on this forum), your advice is helpful cause it's gonna make me more trustworthy. Thanks again
To be honest, my original comments were directed toward paddy, and yes, we've been pretty good friends for quite a while. Nothing I said was intended to elicit a comment from you, and I tried to avoid making it an issue. Please accept my apology. Chris
@cpm9ball I'm happy having you attending my posts! Hope that statement of mine makes everything clear Talk again very soon
