I thought this guy was one of the good guys, until I started getting some coins from this seller that DRASTICALLY looked nothing like the same coin in the photos. HE RECOLORS his LINCOLNS and then when I sent it back charged me 10% restocking fee. This guy would NOT respond to any of my emails. Please the pictures of his coins are so deceptive. They look really NICE on EBAY and when you get them they are HUNKS of $HIT.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!

I also notified the winning bidder of the 1931 S Cent that he was winning about the coin being recolored/dipped. He also asked the seller the same question and got NO response. I just can't believe some folks.

WOW, he has nice Lincolns in PICS usually, but I have never bought from them. Doctored up huh? That sucks, they will get feedback bombed after the change tho.......one good thing is the shysters will really start getting negs bigtime. Drop below 95, you are NARU'd

    I gotta ask this.

Why didn't you notice all of his negatives and does he state a restocking fee?

Sure ain't sticking up for the seller here but you really have to take those things into SERIOUS consideration before bidding.

Yes, Clembo is right always check feedback, as far as the 10% restocking fee, that's a red flag in my book!

True to watch feedbacks but don't forget those can be doctored up by having many friends, relatives, neighbors send in positives.

Why would that be a red flag? I don't know if thats right. I mean if a person sells you something and say they do discribe the item to a tee. unlike the in this topic. Why should a seller have to loss money on the buyer saying I dont want it when they get the item? I Again dont use ebay very much, but I dont think that if a seller is indeed being honest about what hes selling that he should loss to a bad buyer or say even just a misunderstanding buyer. Im not saying anything about the coin in question on this post. Im just saying overall.

    Just a thought:
If I sold something on Ebay and the buyer wanted to send it back. It wouldnt be because of my discription of the item. ( Because I wouldnt try to mislead someone ) So Why should I have to loss money to the buyer that says. I dont want it after they get it. Because of what ever reason. That seems wrong to have to pay if your not the one at fualt? Does anyone agree?

I know im off topic about how much of a scammer this seller is in this topic. But lets face it ebay has bad buyers and bad seller. I forget where i read it but a while ago i read somethign about people buying off ebay and if the item then orderd didnt have tracking of any kind on the package. The buyer would say they never got it. I beleive adding up to something like 20,000 in Paypal froud over a 2 year time span.

Again another reason why I don't really like ebay. If you ask me Ebay is a red flag!

FEEDBACK IS A MUST CHECK EVERYTIME YOU BUY SOMETHING.

    Oldman,

You actually have a point but it's still a red flag I'm afraid.
Why? - because most that charge a restocking fee use very tiny print and do overgrade and misrepresent.
A 10% fee gets them a profit in the long run.

Years ago sellers would have buyers pay for shipping AND ebay fees but ebay put an end to that practice.

There is always the chance of returns but if you're straight in your auctions that chance goes down. You start to build a customer base over time.

I haven't sold in some time myself and really only had 2 problems in over 1000 transaction on ebay and elsewhere. Had a great buyer on Amazon tell me he didn't get a coin. We waited about a month. Then I just wrote him a check for coin and shipping costs. Luckily it was low dollar but I sold this guy a lot of stuff.

The second was a problem and thankfully I had sent the coins certified. A few Morgans on Overstock. Guy claimed he didn't get them although his wife had signed for them. Perusing auctions one day and I'll be darned if I didn't see one of them listed at a much higher grade. Fool left it in the 2x2 I sent it in and I COULD SEE MY HANDWRITING on it!
He was selling an AU coin as high end BU. Needless to say that took care of that problem.

There are scammer buyers out there and you have to watch your back. Proper shipping methods and CLEARLY stated policies become a must.

Your points are well taken and I agree with you. As always :) But heres a question, Does Ebay have a way for a seller to collect listing fee's if a item is returned? Because it still just seems wrong that a seller should have to loss money if an item is returned expessly in a case where a item is discribed 100% correct with now chance of being sneaky? Although I have hardly used ebay much, there is always the chance I will use it more someday.

Also do you have anything for sale on ebay right now clembo? I rather buy from you fellas on cointalk then from other sellers on ebay.

Not that I know of Oldman it's just a risk you take. This is why I understood your points so well;) I suppose one could go with a, let's say, 5% restocking fee and make it real clear as to why but that would alienate a lot of bidders. Sucks to be the seller sometimes.

I have not personally sold on ebay in quite a while. Howver, you may consider PMs to other members here to see if they are selling. It IS nice to know who you're buying from.

If a coin is returned, there is a form that is filled out called a final value fee credit. It returns to seller the Ebay commision but not the listing fees. Seller pays listing fees even if coin does not sell, and ,that is never refunded.

Restock fees are scams to profit off items even if returned, AND as a deterrent to returning coins, even if you don't like the coin. 10% restock fee on an XF 09-VDB...$1.50, XF-1914-D....$75. WHY does it cost more to restock the higher value coin? Reaks of scam.

Another trick...high shipping fees are designed to profit as well....You sell a $5 coin and charge shipping of $7.

Shipping is usually never refunded. You refund the buyers $5 and keep the extra $4 shipping. In many cases this is also a deterrent to returning.

a restocking fee for ebay, is crap, garbage, the tool of ripoff artists and scammers 98% of the time.

Restock fees are a scam way for a scam seller to scam buyers out of scam profit when the scam coin is returned because the listing was a scam.

Bullion sales are final and not subject to return.

EDIT: SGS is a scam holder holding a scam coin from a scam company scamming coins to uneducated buyers. I only add that because I noticed your avatar, not at all calling you a scammer who scams.

I honestly didn't notice it. Yet when I called him out about the recoloring, and I get retalitory neg feedback. Oh well. I warned a couple potential biddders on a few of his coins and they started bidding on my coins. Thats not what I was going after but oh well.
