Edit by lordmarcovan: I'm going to give @Jim Wilkins credit for an eligible entry post, despite the lack of any coin-related content in this post. (He posted a separate thread by mistake- I think it was just a little bit of newbie confusion.)

    Anyway, I'm allowing this entry.

A fond coin memory I have is from 2012, sitting on the floor in my hobby room and going through coins that my father-in-law left to my husband. My husband wasn't interested and saw that I clearly was psyched about it, so I started exploring and sorting. I hadn't coin collected much before this, just as a kid looking through pocket change. I found this in a bag with other miscellaneous tokens (subway, game etc.):

I looked at it and thought , 'someone messed up a perfectly nice buffalo nickel'. I decided to Google 'buffalo nickel with different/carved face' and saw that it looked like a Hobo nickel. I was surprised to find out that there was a Hobo Nickel Society. They eventually verified it as an original and it may have been made by Wideneck Willie. It's one of my favorites because it's so different and it's handmade.

I wonder if he's a relative of Walt 'No Neck' Williams, MLB baseball player?

Honestly don't know. This belongs to a dealer friend who was wondering what it was. Perhaps @Fred Weinberg might know

A coin, or at least a trace of it turned up in a strange place.
I deal in antique and vintage items and I came across this interesting vase that seemed to have a "signature" on the base. Upon closer examination it is an impression of what looks to be a bimetal coin from the netherlands that was used as part of the tooling for the vase's creation. Difficult to photograph, but you can just barely see the impression of it.
