I haven't decided. I still look over at the gallon jug and almost cringe thinking I can return all that with out sorting them and get new boxes. Most likely I will. Just need to figure where i an going to store them all, lol.

I am going to roll my copper ones and put them back into a $25 box. I am sure that its the way to store them with using the least amount of space.

I took my coins back to the bank's free coin drop and there it was in the coin reject try looking at me, a 1964 D dime. That's more silver than what I've pulled from my last five boxes of halves. Oh there was also a 1968 Canadian Five Cent piece.

Who knows, maybe they will lift the law some day, and then you could have a hoard already built!

Heck, if you're a small-time hoarder - a few rolls a month, you've got nothing to lose. Keep 'em in the back of the closet and slowly add to them. If nothing materializes, take a few rolls in every time you go to the bank. They can't refuse. You'll get your money back and you can say you had an interesting time!!

Even if the ban is lifted, ya ain't gonna get rich, but it'll make you feel like you beat the system. :)

My bank finally had a roll of halves- my first one- I got a 1964 and a 1966. I think that qualifies as beginner's luck- but I'll take it!

56 proofs out of 3 rolls of halves...

    ...including 5 Franklin proofs- 1957, 1958, 1960, 1962 and 1963.

Also a full run of Kennedy proofs from 1964 and 1969 to 2006 (except '83 and '91), as well as a few doubles, and some silver Kennedy proofs too- 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006.

None are scratched but most have fingerprints on them, unfortunately.

Sorry for the mediocre pictures, hopefully you get the gist.

"56 proofs out of 3 rolls of halves..."

Dang! Nice haul! OK, gotta ask, out of the 60 coins (three rolls) what were the 4 non-proof coins?

    NOS Former Coin Hoarder

Yes, a nice haul indeed but what this means is that some piece of trash either inherited or stole 56+ proof sets, broke the coins out of their protective holdings and just deposited them as pocket change. The individual who did this most likely also did the same thing with the pennies through the quarters that were in the sets as well and will probably end up being circulated and ruined. This story was actually just sad for me to read. I wish the fingerprints would be used to track down the individual who did this and bring him or her to justice(assuming they were stolen).

56 proof halves! I thought I did good by getting a BU 58 wheat cent and dime in my $25 cent box.

As stated, they may have broken up proof sets.
Go back & get the rolls of cents, nickels, dimes & qaurters!

    Thanks! The other 4 were a 1963 Franklin 2x1967 and 1968-D in XF/AU.

Believe me, as soon as I saw them that was my first thought. I called the bank, but that customer did not bring in any other rolls.

As NOS stated, someone just broke open 56 proof sets... and while they could have been stolen they also could have been turned in by uncaring heirs. Believe it or not, I found a similar batch about a year ago (no Franklin proofs though); I never saw anything in the paper about a coin collection's theft so I assumed then as now that it was foolish heirs.
